SCHOOL SUCKS
Letter From The Editor
By Kendrick Daye

I hate school. Not like I hate being broke, but close enough. This semester, which seemed to drag on and never end like a Janet Jackson album, is finally done and I’ve closed it out with a 3.12 GPA. Which I think is damn good, especially for me. I’ve never been a good grade having test taker. But, this semester I have been focused on school in a way I never have been. I was never good in school because I felt I already knew too much, or enough, now I know, you can never know enough.

As you get ready to whip out the bathing suits and flip-flops, or even the business suits and pencil skirts for that big internship you landed, remember to always seek knowledge. That’s the one thing they can never take away from you. So this issue is called The Schools out for Summer Issue. And we’ve interviewed a bevy of people that live by this idea.

In the Art & Design section, Chris Jordan encourages us to be socially conscious with his photography, while Matt of MWM graphics talks Vectors and we watch Illustrator Ryan, Go, Go and Go! In the Sounds section, we link up with Saul Williams for a candid chat and talk music with Barry Adamson. Writer Cicily Janus interviews author Doug Crandell in the Literature section. In the Fashion section, the creators of Plain Gravy teach our readers how to start an apparel business in 10 easy steps, and Mike Meyers and Jessica Alba keep the laughs coming in the Theatre section. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Best,
