YA READY B?

A LOOK AT STUDIO B IN NEW YORK CITY

This cavernous refuge of the hipster nation represents the first honest attempt at a legit nightclub in the better borough of Brooklyn that caters to the new Brooklynite; meaning, yes, there are many clubs in Brooklyn, but this is the first large one making a realistic attempt at booking the kind of talent the more recent additions to the Brooklyn community is interested in seeing. It's a welcome addition indeed, and kudos to the owners (who are the folks from Studio A in Miami) for taking this well timed risk; it seems to be paying off thus far. More...

THE DELANO HOTEL
The Best Thing About South Beach, Besides The Beach

The Delano is, without question, the very best thing about South Beach. I am really shocked to see so many unhappy reviews here because I have always found most of the staff to be extremely friendly and accommodating. My partner and I have stayed at the Delano perhaps 8 times in the last 4 years. True, sometimes the pool staff can be overwhelmed by other demanding guests. And, true, the rate for a standard room is pretty high when compared with your average hotel. But this isn't an average hotel. And I think the hotel is right to favour guests staying in larger rooms. PERSAI COMPANY
A New Way To Search The Net

The information age is full of new start-ups hoping to make it big as the next Google or Amazon. The Persai Company is run by a rag-tag group of cyber-sphere rebels: Matt Kent, Ted Dziuba, and Kyle Shank.  Their new project has received a good bit of attention because of their former blog Uncov, a site dedicated to “internet startups and web2. “We plan on digging deeper than most web2 review sites and finding out what is really going on behind the scenes.”More...

Ria's Bluebird Restaurant in Atlanta, GA

Tired of greasy breakfast diners? Try something different by stopping by Ria’s Bluebird Restaurant. Located on Memorial Drive in Atlanta, this small artsy diner is filled with wall to wall murals as well as pictures, paintings, and sculptures of bluebirds. You can drink an espresso at the stainless steel counter, sit in a low-slung booth or eat outside on the patio when the whether is good. This diner isn’t your typical Waffle House or House of Pancakes, but there is a substantial vegetarian selection for those who aren’t too fond of the typical breakfast diners. More...

CHARLOTTESVILLE
Deck Locale Spotlight

As a Virginia native and quite lively one at that, I was relatively pleased when asked to do a city spot light of one of my favorite towns. Charlottesville is not just a city; it is a way of life. Unlike New York City or Los Angeles, Virginia has always upheld its old tradition of the “upper south’ values and traditions. Peace, serenity and simple pleasures are the best way to describe Charlottesville. No need to travel to Italy or Paris for fine dining and amusement. It can be found right here, in our very first colony. More...

BEACH CRUISER BIKES
Are These Bikes The New Scooters?

Thinking of going to the beach this summer? Or maybe just thinking of something fun to do with your family; something you’ve got to do, or at least try is riding on a Beach Cruiser bike while on your get-away. It truly is an experience worth partaking in. Beach Cruiser bikes were, and still sort of are, an anomaly amongst the mainstream. These sporty, yet extremely durable bikes were initially made by Schwinn in the 1930’s. More...

THE BLF STRIKES AGAIN
The Revolution Will Be On Billboards

I've long thought that the Billboard Liberation Front, beyond being one of the longest running billboard alteration groups, is also one of the smartest. Rather than simply playing off corporate logos, they often are able to use billboards to create a critique that cuts a little deeper, and yesterday they put up a good one in San Francisco. Here is an extended excerpt from their press release. More...
