He even speaks on hip-hop artists such as Jay-Z who support Obama and Diddy’s “Vote or Die” movement. This is a must see.

I’m use toHysteric Glamour dropping crazy and keen cut pieces for women. The once predominately female brand is now featuring some really nice carriers for men along with some cool apparel.

This brand is timeless. I wouldn’t mind seeing Hysteric Glamour doing a collab with Head Porter or Comme des Garcons for that matter.

Bentley Attempts To Class Up The Lap Top Bag

Filed under: Fashion. — kendrick daye @ 3:14 pm

Need a classy look to carrying around your laptop? Bentley has you covered. The car company has created a laptop class that attempts to class up the notebook computer business with rich leather and hand-sewn cross stitching that comes directly from the storied brand’s seats. Further connection between notebook and luxury vehicle comes from the use of a Bentley door handle that has been converted for computer carrying duty, and the laptop is supposedly “hand-built” just like the cars”

“The Dark Knight” Lives Up To Expectations

Filed under: Film. — kendrick daye @ 8:34 pm
I make up my mind pretty quickly.  And whenever the world goes left you can usually expect me to go right. But, after seeing The Dark Knight on Saturday, this is one time I have to agree with the rest of the world. The Dark Knight was amazing. Freaking amazing. This was one of the best films I’ve seen in a long time. Everything about it, the lighting, the shots, everything was impressive.

Although everyone will gawk over Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker, which was no doubt amazing, Christian Bale’s performance of Bruce Wayne, Morgan Freeman and pretty much all the main characters had strong performances. The only thing I would have like to see would be The Joker dancing to a funky tune ala Jack Nicholson dancing to Prince’s “Kiss” in 1998’s Batman. Maybe, Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl,” would suffice, aww, I kid, I kid. But, If you get the chance to, please see this movie, and make sure you see it in the theatres, I’m a strong advocate of Project Free TV, but the bootleg will not do it justice.

Also, check out the trailer for what may be the second best film of the year, behind “The Dark Knight,” “Blindness.”

Nike SB Marge Dunks

Remember the 2004 release of the popular Homer Simpson Nike SB? Well, you know Nike had to release a Marge Simpson edition!

The colorway features Marge’s yellow skin tone, blue hair and green dress all in one.

The Marge sb dunks are allegedly limited to an Asia and Pacific release only.

I’m not really feeling the colorway but I’m happy for Marge. I’m pretty sure these will be available on sites similar to kix-files.com that usually has Asia exclusive dunks available.

The Museum of Drunken Art

Filed under: Art & Design. — chasthestrangefruit @ 9:39 pm

Take a quick glance! No, blink twice real fast at this dope artwork below!

Ill right? right. Allow me to introduce your imagination to the wonderful Museum of Drunken Art located in New York.

You know the feeling when under the influence, seeing double, slight dizzyness. Well during that moment does your vision ever paint the drunken picture of art? Don’t think so? Bartenders (co-creators) Sam Crees and Peter Teraberry shows you differently.

Crees states, “It basically started with a group of friends, who are also artists, hanging out in bars here in New York.  Inevitable as the nights would wear on, we would always start doodling on bar napkins, coasters, and whatever else was around. My co-curator, Peter Teraberry, and I started to collect the works and post them on our blog.”

Their ideas are catching the  attention of artists and people who love art around the world daily. After recieving alot of attention from their first real art show of art in Beacon, NY the dynamic art duo has already started on a second show up at Freddy’s Back Room.

Maybe being drunk isn’t so much of a bad thing after all, right? Especially if it’s in the sake of art.

Ron English’s Abraham Obama Causes Controversy

Filed under: Art & Design., Culture. — nmatthews @ 9:26 pm

Would you like to get more personal with the picture? Well take a trip to Boston, Massachusetts the Gallery XIV is where you will be able to view more of Abraham Obama.

What really make this picture a hit is that the artist himself passed out posters and they are being placed on bulidings, people privite homes, on the streets. Which is a crime no matter what it is. Some are protesting Obama’s image being mixed with Abraham Lincoln’s.

H&M Updating Men’s Line

A sweet surprise is in store for men everywhere this coming September. H&M, the Swedish retail chain, plans on updating their men’s lines with more fashion forward merchandise. The cause according to Ann-Sofie Johanasson, H&M’s head of design is the fact that men are now “more into fashion and more daring.” It’s quite natural for the company to decide to cater more to men and their expanding sense of fashion.

Apple iPhone 3G sold out in 21 states

Filed under: Music., Culture. — kendrick daye @ 10:52 pm

If you haven’t already purchased Apple’s new iPhone 3G your chances of owning one are beginning to look slim. The second version of the multi-media phone is now sold out in 21 states, including New Jersey, Connecticut, and New Mexico, after only four days on the market.

As early as 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, all three models of the iPhone were sold out in 21 states, according to Jim Neal, who checked each of Apple’s 188 U.S. retail stores using the company’s iPhone availability widget. Neal wrote to CNNMoney.com that “117 Apple stores reported having sold out of all models and only 27 stores indicated they had all three models in stock.

According to the same article, the full list of states reporting no stock of iPhone 3G on hand were Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin.

Shoppers still itching for iPhone 3Gs still have a hope–as long as they’re willing to get up early and in most cases, drive long distances. Apple’s website advises customers to check availability after 9:00 p.m. and be sure to arrive early since iPhone 3G is sold on a first come, first served basis.

According to the Apple website, 1,800 AT&T stores also carried iPhone 3Gs. A company spokesman told CNNMoney.com “they were virtually sold out the first day of sales, according to a company spokesman, and there is no word on when they will be restocked.”

Album Review: “Untitled” by Nas

Filed under: Music. — kendrick daye @ 3:06 pm
Nas’s new race heavy untitled album, the 9th studio album of his expansive career, is like a blaxpotation film in that it attempts to erase racial stereotypes and biases but ends up just reinforcing them.

William Cooper’s conspiracy theory book Behold A Pale Horse, UFO cover-ups, Media bias, presidential candidates, Louis Farrakhan, racial stereotypes and who is allowed to use the n word, are just a few of the many controversial topics that Nas gives his outspoken, and often contradicting opinion on throughout the album. The first track is minimal, and features only a piano to which Nas does spoken word not rap. In a low tone he spits verbal assaults like, “My queen used her milkshake to bring niggas to the slaughterhouses.” Nasty. Chris Brown does his best Brandy impersonation yet on “Make The World Go Round,” a summer snyth pop track that also features a guest verse by Game–an obvious swipe at 50 Cent, but never mind that. This track could be a good follow-up single to “Hero.” It’s commercial enough, but still Nas. For someone who usually one of the two extremes this new middle ground is exciting.

Art Nouveau Magazine Presents “The Art of Strange”

Art Nouveau Magazine presents “The Art of Strange” July 31st at Niche, 658 Whitehall Street. Doors open at 10:30, show starts at 11:00. Cost is $7 at the door, that’s less than that new Nas disc, a #7 at Checkers, and a movie on a Saturday night.

New Music: Brandy “List”

Filed under: Music. — kendrick daye @ 2:07 pm
Ive grown up and grown out of R&B. But, I am and probably will always be a big fan of Brandy. Whether it’s out of pure respect for the years I’ve spent listening to her music or the quality of the music she puts out. I was super excited when Pharrell announced he was working on her next album a while back. I thought this could work and be magical. But, for the past couple of years Brandy has released corny ballad after ballad.  I feared the worst when I received this track called “List” produced by The Underdogs, they are known for making cheesy R&B ballads–they did the Dreamgirls soundtrack. But, with Brandy they created a track that rivals anything Timbaland, stole, ermm produced.

“List” is a pseudo Indian influenced track that hits hard. And Brandy’s vocals have never sounded so good. Needless to say, this track is hot! Super hot! And, I’m kind of ashamed I doubted her.  I can’t help but read into the lyrics and think this is a shot at the music industry. She’s singing “I don’t wanna be on that list,” and later sings “I’m the best!” Is this a shot at the other R&B pop divas such as Beyonce and Rihanna who have taken over in her absence. Take a listen for yourself here.

Exit Polls & Rich Rappers: Young Jeezy “Fucks With McCain” Until It Hurts His Career

Filed under: Culture. — kendrick daye @ 8:08 am

As a black person, especially a black male, if you’re not supporting Barack Obama’s presidential run you’re looked at in the worst light by not only black people but white people as well. “But you’re black,” they gasp if you say you’re voting for an Independent or even worse John McCain this fall. So it’s no surprise that Young Jeezy, who’s feeling the heat from what some consider statements he’s at least considering supporting the Arizona Senator in this fall’s election, he told Vibe Magazine, “No disrespect to my man Barack, but I f**ked with John McCain,”  issue a full press release stating his support for “the black man.”

Let’s face it, as an entertainer it is the “cool” thing to do to support a democrat, especially Obama. If Oprah does it, if Will Smith does it, if Scarlett Johansson does it, you as a celberity must or your toast.

When Jeezy told Vibe Magazine McCain, “He greeted me like a god,” who was surprised? Why wouldn’t he? McCain is undoubtedly going to continue the Bush Administrations tax cuts for the rich and Obama is undoubtedly going to raise taxes for the rich, similar to Bill Clinton in the 90’s. Rappers like Jeezy are rich. Don’t be surprised to have these guys and gals, make songs about Obama, stream his photo at concerts urging fans to vote for him, make videos with John Legend shouting “Yes We Can” at rallies, go on and on about how much they want this black man in office and still vote for McCain in the fall. Hey, it’s ultimately their pockets their protecting, right? We know how those exit polls can be misleading.
While some have done nothing but spit vitriol at the Snowman, I commend Jeezy if he’s one of those rich rappers doing just that, because he had the balls to say he has a choice. Black and white people alike treat the black vote as if we don’t have a choice. As if there isn’t anybody else to vote for because we must blindly support the half-white, half-African candidate—because we’re black. That’s bull. You always have a choice, and that fact that Jeezy seems to acknowledge that shows great judgment on his part whether you agree or not.
